Baby Blues
Baby blues are feelings of sadness and moodiness a woman may have in the first few days after having a baby. Baby blues are also called Postpartum Blues. Many women feel this way. The factors that cause baby blues are yet not known that well by doctors, however, their timing tells us a lot. After birth, a mother's body goes through extreme hormonal fluctuations to help them recover and care for the baby, shrinking the uterus back to its normal size and promoting lactation, among other things. Those hormonal changes can also affect a postpartum mother's state of mind.
The symptoms of Baby blues begin 2-3 days after the north of the child and may last up to 10-14 days. The general symptoms include:
- Crying inexplicably over minor triggers.
- Having mood swings.
- Feeling of restlessness and insomnia.
- Clumsy thoughts and difficulty in making simple decisions
- Finding it difficult to bond well with spouse and baby.
After the birth of a child a mother has to cope with the drastic change in daily life routine.
