Binaural Beats
When our ears perceive two tones, one in each ear, that slightly differ in their frequencies, our brain processes a beat at the difference of the frequencies. This is called binaural beats. According to scientific studies, the two tones must be below 1000 Hz frequency and the difference must be less than 30 hz.
Binaural beats have been examined in music and are used to tune instruments such as pianos and organs. In recent studies, they have been connected to potential health benefits. Currently, binaural therapy is an emerging form of sound therapy. Advocates of this type of therapy claim that binaural beats appear to be a promising tool in the fight against anxiety, stress, and negative mental states. Several human studies claim, binaural beats induce the same mental state associated with a meditation practice, but much more quickly.
Listening daily to CDs or audio files with binaural beats has positive effects and are said to reduce anxiety, increase focus and concentration, lower stress, foster positive mood and promote creativity.
