Cross-dressing
The word cross-dressing is used to refer to the act of wearing items of clothing that is not socially associated with one's biological sex. Cross-dressing has been used in society for purposes which includes disguise,comedy, comfort, and self-expression in history as well as in the postmodern times. Almost every human civilization across the history has had some expected or social norms for biological sex relating to aspects like the style, color, or way of clothing, and many more. Likewise, almost all societies have had a set of guidelines, views and sometimes even laws defining what type of clothing is considered gender appropriate in what setting. Cross dressing refers to the act, where these guidelines are violated by an individual.
