Cultural practices
The word Cultural practices refers to a shared perceptions of people’s routine behavior, in the context of the society or in a culture (similar types of terms like cultural practice is intersubjective perceptions or descriptive norms) and it is also inclusive of the values that are shared ideals of a culture or the injunctive norms. According to Lévi-Strauss, cultural practices are founded upon some basics. For example, Families may be defined differently in different cultures, but something common to all culture is a taboo on incest. Lévi-Strauss argues this is to force people to marry strangers outside families. In the process of marrying a stranger the path towards formation of community is laid, which is the root of civilisation.
