Diabetes
Diabetes can be understood as a chronic condition of health that affects how human body converts food into glucose or energy. Most of the food material that we consume is converted into glucose and released into the bloodstream. When the level of glucose or blood sugar rises up in the blood stream, it signals the pancreas, which is an exoendocrine gland, to release insulin. Insulin is a hormone, that acts like a key to let the blood sugar into the human body’s cells for the utilization of the energy. If one is suffering from diabetes, the body is either not able to make enough insulin or it can not use the insulin that is made by the pancreas. When cells stop responding to insulin or there isn’t enough insulin, too much blood sugar stays remains in the bloodstream. With passage of time, diabetes can cause serious health problems, which includes vision loss, heart disease, or kidney disease. Consumption of medicine is needed, getting diabetes self-management support and education, and keeping health care appointments can also improve lifestyles of a person suffering from diabetes.
