Domestic violence
The term Domestic violence which is also known as spousal abuse, domestic abuse, or intimate partner violence (IPV). However, these are not always synonymous. This term can be broadly explained as a pattern of abusive behaviors that is done by one or both partners who are involved in an intimate relationship like that of marriage, dating, friends, family, or cohabitation. As per historical record, the first attested employment of the expression "domestic violence" in the modern way, meaning violence in the home" or "spouse abuse, was in the year 1977. The modern attention to domestic violence was drawn after/with the women's movement that occurred during the 1970s, particularly with the uprise of the feminism and women's rights movements.
