Electrolyte imbalance
The term electrolyte imbalance refers to a condition that can occur if the body has too much of water or too little water for functioning. As we all know, electrolytes are minerals that are present in the blood, tissues, and elsewhere throughout the body of an living organism. Their name is indicative of the fact that they possess an electrical charge. An electrolyte imbalance can happen for several reasons, for instance, if a person is extremely dehydrated or if they have taken in too much water in their body.
The most common cause of an electrolyte imbalance are: diarrhea, vomiting, not drinking enough fluids, excessive sweating, not eating enough, eating disorders, certain medications like the laxatives and diuretics, etc.
