Elevator
An elevator is something that lifts things up. In the context of mental health, elevator can be understood as a stimuli that elevated the mood and causes euphoria or elation. This can be any rewarding information or stimuli that is in itself very important or relevant to the person who is exposed to it. The euphoric periods are extremely pleasure, as perceived by the person. It refers to the sudden upliftment of mood, which can be because of reappraisal of a specific situation that is pleasurable, also because of a underlying mental disorder like the mood disorder or certain personality disorders. There can be condition where people might feel excited or their mood might be elevated even at inappropriate stimulus. For example, When a person suffers from disorders like mania or hypomanic, they might continue to be in an elevated mood conditions over hours of the day and sometimes even continuously for days, becoming overactive and experiencing reduced need for sleep or resting.
