Empty nest syndrome
The term Empty nest syndrome is used to refer to the grief that many parents experience when their children/offspring move out of home. As per researches, women more commonly face this condition compared to men since women are more likely to have had the active role in their primary career. Empty nest syndrome is quite a different feeling, unlike the grief that is experienced when for a instance a loved one dies, the grief of empty nest syndrome has for the long time gone unrecognized. This is because the incidence of an adult child moving out of home is seen as something quite normal and a healthy event. Upset parents often find few areas of support or sympathy. In several cases, empty nest syndrome is made more difficult by other intervening life events or significant changes that occurs around the same time, like the retirement or menopause.
