Euphoria
Euphoria can be understood as a state of happiness and pleasure that a person experiences due to some event that has occurred in their life. The euphoric periods are extremely pleasure, as perceived by the person. It refers to the sudden upliftment of mood, which can be because of reappraisal of a specific situation that is pleasurable, also because of a underlying mental disorder like the mood disorder or certain personality disorders. All of us have witnessed moments when our mood have been elevated by some external environmental stimuli and have changed from a depressed to euthymic, most of us have also experienced mood swings. However, problem arises when there is frequent mood swings and a person is unable to control one’s arousal. When a person suffers from disorders like mania or hypomanic, they might continue to be in an elevated mood conditions over hours of the day and sometimes even continuously for days, becoming overactive and experiencing reduced need for sleep or resting.
