Existential anxiety
Existential anxiety can be understood as the struggle to know oneself, a general perception of life, and what the person wants out of it. It can lead to the feelings of distress, discontent, and unease that is quite hard to pinpoint, and also can be highly uncomfortable. To experience the feeling of existential anxiety is to experience all-encompassing doubt and the ability to deeply questions about one’s future as well as present meaning and purpose of life.
It is much more than the superficial worry. The hallmark of existential anxiety is not just having a worry or thought but much beyond that. It involves going deeper with the thought and analyzing its meaning. This critical analysis, by extension, eventually encompasses more than just the meaning of a single thought, comprising meaning of life itself. Existential anxiety do not only deal with ordinary aspects of daily life but also with the emotional and spiritual experience of the living being.
