False memories
The term false memory refers to the recollection that seems to be true in one’s own mind but is generally not true or is fabricated in part or in whole. An example of a false memory is believing one have switched off the fan before leaving for walk, only to come home and find that they didn’t. Most false memories that are formed over the time aren’t malicious or even intentionally hurtful. They are simply shifts or reconstructions of memory that do not align with the true events that have taken place. However, some false memories often leads to significant consequences, these can include proceedings in court or legal settings where false memories might lead to certain false conviction.
