Gratification
The word Gratification can be correctly defined as a pleasurable emotional reaction, which is typically of happiness in response to the fulfillment of a particular desire or a particular goal. It can also be identified as a response that generally stems in from the fulfillment of social needs, which includes features like affiliation, social approval, socializing, and mutual recognition. It would be correct to claim that gratification, like all emotions, is a motivator of behavior and has a great a role to play in the entire range of human social systems. As per Freud, a child seeks for instant gratification of his or her needs, and is governed by the pleasure principle, as the child grows up he or she learns that gratification of needs right when it arises is not possible and therefore might be delayed sometimes. Hence, with maturation develops the reality orientation, and a person gets habituated with delayed gratification.
