Involuntary spasms
The word involuntary refers to the condition which arises without our conscious intervention or decision making being involved. The term spasm is generally used to refer to a condition of contraction and relaxation. There can be several reasons for due to which involuntary spasm might occur in a person. The medical term of involuntary spasm is Myoclonus, it is also known as twitching or jerking. The onset of myoclonus is generally very sudden, without prior indication. Although it is not a disease but nevertheless it should be taken as a sign of another condition. People who report the experience of myoclonic twitches or jerks generally have muscles that unexpectedly contract or tightens (positive myoclonus) or relax (negative myoclonus).
