Juvenile delinquency
Juvenile delinquents are those children or/and adolescents who are found engaged in illegal acts. Although youth crime has declined considerably throughout the world, yet have not diminished completely. When they are interviewed directly and confidentially about the lawbreaking, almost every teenagers admit to have committed some sort of offense which are usually a minor crime, like petty stealing or conduct that is disorderly. Both police arrests as well as self-reports have depicted that delinquency rises over early and middle adolescence and then it gradually declines (Farrington, 2009; U.S. Department of Justice, 2010).
Antisocial behavior us known to increase among teenagers as a consequence of heightened reward seeking and desire of getting approval from their peer group. Gradually peers become less influential; emotional self-regulation, decision making, and moral reasoning improve; and young people understands social contexts like higher education, career, work, and marriage, they are less conducive towards lawbreaking.
