Laughter
Laughter is an expression of pleasure, it is universally recognised as a social signal of joy and happiness. While laughing our body releases endorphins. These are feel-good neurotransmitters that have effects similar to narcotics.
Laughter might not be in voluntary control of the nervous system but has many health benefits. We don't put much effort into finding laughter and cheerfulness, though we should.
Laughter boosts our immune system, increases blood flow, aids circulation and protects against heart disease. Laughter has positive effects on mental health, it relaxes muscle, lowers anxiety and tension, improves mood. Laughter enables us to bond easily with a large community.
Laughter is contagious of all emotions, the sound of it provokes more laughter. That’s why sitcoms use laugh tracks. Laughter can make life feel more manageable by buffering the experience of pain, sharpening one's ability to remember things, and alleviating the pressures of the daily hustle of life.
