Obscenities
Obscenity refers to a legal concept used to characterize certain (particularly sexual) material which is offensive to the public sense of decency. The definition of obscenity is elusive, largely because the content that is considered obscene is often, like beauty, in the eye of the beholder or subjective and varies from person to person. Although the term originally referred to things which were considered repulsive, with passage of time, it acquired a more specifically sexual meaning.
Recently, differences between countries in the construct of legal definitions and cultural conceptions of obscenity became increasingly important with the development of the Internet, this has enabled anyone with a computer to view materials including images, texts, and motion pictures originating from virtually anywhere in the world. Therefore, the similar information have been made available for all age groups, which is an area of concern. Therefore, obscenity finds importance in the new era.
