Overwhelmed
To be overwhelmed refers to the condition when some emotions are so much active in our consciousness or working memory that they take up most of the the day, in many cases preventing us to realizing that it is excess and unnecessary, resulting in maladaptive behaviour and at times disordered states like mania or hypomania. Human beings can be overwhelmed by various reasons. The reasons can range from mere thoughts about a different situation to a disordered thought pattern where an individual is more or less always preoccupied with thoughts that are not of derivative of true rational or logical sense. When a person with overwhelmed with a specific thought thoughts, their quality of work or productivity decreases considerably, resulting them in failure in different areas. This type of severe impairment is something that requires treatment and must be brought into clinical attention, for administration of proper intervention.
