Poiesis
The word poiesis refers to the very act of creating something new, or in other words, the process of creation. In the context of philosophy, poiesis, a word derived from the ancient Greek term ποιε?ν is which literally translates as “to make” can be defined as the activity through which a person engages himself or herself in bringing something into being, that has not existed before. The word is often employed as a suffix, for example in the biological term hematopoiesis, it indicates to the formation of new blood cells.
Creativity has been linked with various psychological constructs like intelligence, emotional intelligence, maturity, objectivity, perspective taking, well being etc. There exist research evidence that a person who is creative often experiences greater well being. Emotionally creative person are asset to themselves and their society. Since they only enhances their well being but well being of the society in general.
