Reassurance
The word reassurance can refers to the active action that is done by an individual in removing someone's doubts or fears about a specific thing or a specific situation. Reassurance is often required for a child while he or she is acquiring new knowledge about something. They might experience a lack of confidence while executing something that they have newly learned, in such situations, reassurance helps. Reassurance when provided in right amount also ensures proper development and secure attachment to the parental figures.
However, when a person lacks self confidence they often seek for reassurance from people around them. There are people who are suspicious by nature or suffering from paranoia, they requires repeated assurance from person and society to ensure that they not being cheated upon or tricked. They often are suspicious about their partners doubting their fidelity. They feel secure only after they have been reassured frequently.
