Self worth
The amount of value one holds about oneself is the self worth of the person. In other words, when a person is sets a specific goal and accomplishes the goal, the person draws satisfaction from it. Often, the satisfaction is received once the goal is achieved, a person associated worth with it, as hence experiences enhanced self worth. The self worth however is not only dependent upon the achievement or failure to achieve. It is quite important for people to have self insight so that they can value their capabilities and explore their maximum possibilities .
However, when a person suffer from depression, this area of self worth is very highly affected. Person who is suffering from major depressive disorder or double depression, often finds themselves unworthy or is pressed upon by feelings of worthlessness. This feeling often affect the self confidence of human beings and affects functioning.
