Somatization
Somatization or somatization disorder refers to a psychological condition where multiple complaints are presented, the duration of presentation of such problem is over a relatively long period of time, which classically begins before the age of 30 years. In these condition, the clients complain of various physical ailments. Here it is worth mentioning that all the physical ailments are inadequately explained by independent findings of physical illness or injury and that might lead to medical treatment or to significant life impairment. There exists no physical existence of the disorder or no medical test actually provide any confirmatory evidence for such complaints. There occur one or more somatic symptoms that are distressing or result in significant disruption of daily life, including disproportionate thoughts about the seriousness of one’s symptoms, or persistently high level of anxiety about physical health. And excessive time and energy devoted to these symptoms or health concerns.
