Spur-of-the moment
When a person does something that has no prior planning and is executed hastily without thinking of the consequences that might follow, one is said to be acting hastily, with the momentary arousal, such decisions are made at the spur of the moment. Every human being at one time or the other takes decision which do not involve prior planning or detailed thought upon future consequences. This is done during the time of high arousal or emergency situation, where instant decision making is required. But certain people are found to act in haste in most of the situation, they have shorter reaction time to phenomena and are extremely less interested in investing energy thinking about the consequences of the decision. They often are of this personality structure or the condition can be the result of an underlying psychological distress or disorder, like mania, hypomania or BPD.
