Transgender
“Transgender” is an umbrella term that describes people whose gender identity or expression does not amalgamate with their biological sex. For example, a transgender person may identify as a woman despite having been born with male genitals. There is no one way to be transgender, and no one way for transgender people to look or feel about themselves. Sometimes, a person’s gender identity does not fit neatly into two choices. The term “gender non-conforming” refers to people whose gender expression is different from conventional expectations of masculinity or femininity. However, not all gender non-conforming people identify them as transgender and not all transgender people identify them as gender nonconforming. Transgender people are a diverse population of individuals who do not identify with their gender at birth. Transgender identity concerns women and men who masculinise or feminise their bodies with cross-sex hormone treatment and / or gender-confrming surgery.
