Trauma
Trauma can be referred to as an emotional response which is elicited towards a terrible event. The events, for example can be an accident, rape, abuse, military attacks, massacre or natural disaster. Immediately after the occurrence of the event, human being’s experience of a shock and denial are typical to its species. There can also be longer term reactions, these reactions can include flashbacks, unpredictable emotions, strained relationships. It can even include physical symptoms like headaches or nausea. As it is known that these feelings are normal and prevalent in general population, there exist a section of human population who have difficulty moving forward with their lives after they have experienced a traumatic event. Psychologists and clinical psychologists can assist these individuals, so that they can successfully find constructive ways of managing their emotions and live a life without psychological distress, and experience an improvement in their mental health condition
