Viscous cycle
The word viscous cycle funds its place in the pain management terminology. The term viscous cycle can be grossly defined as a process in which, a single factor is seen to take up both the places, that is the cause and effect of a specific medical condition.
Here, it requires a mention that such condition is likely to be characterized by the presence of a single that is one or specific set of factors that seems to perpetuate certain conditions. Gradually, with time, these factor turns out to be one of the consequences of the condition, which will again cyclically become the cause of the disordered condition.
For instance, considering a chronic pain, it have been observed that a poor posture might lead to pain in the lower back are, which in turn forces the individual to sit in a posture that is improper posture, thus resulting in further back pain.
