Vulnerabilities
We call a person vulnerable when he or she is exposed to the possibilities of manipulation. This manipulation can be of different form. Usually, when an vulnerable individual is exposed to the condition which can bring about changes in their psychological state, he or she is more likely to experience the change than those who do not have the vulnerabilities.
The kind of vulnerabilities can range from the genetic vulnerabilities to the one which occurs due to environmental stimulation. Here one thing should be remembered, merely because one is more vulnerable towards development of certain disorder than the general population does not necessarily mean that he or she will develop the disorder. When a person effectively looks after his or her mental health, practice mental health promoting activities in their daily lives and develop insight related to his or her overall well being, a disordered condition can be avoided.
