My aim as a Psychotherapist is to build an environment for you that is safe, collaborative and non-judgmental to deepen your understanding of self while internalising a healthier version of self. I will walk with you through a deep process of exploring your emotions, build insight around what is contributing for it to surface intensely while supporting you to handle these strong emotions in the future. My work is rooted in person centred, trauma informed principles using a psychodynamic approach to therapy (PDT). This involves supporting you to build awareness to understand and find connection between your thoughts, emotions and behaviours. I will support you to access and process unresolved past experiences and unconscious coping strategies that may be keeping you stuck in the present and potentially impacting your future.
I have an MSc in Psychology of Mental Health from The University of Edinburgh and I have completed my Masters of Counselling from The University of Queensland. I am a Level 2 member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship and work stressors and specifically have a keen interest working with grief, shame and trauma. As a therapist, I am constantly learning and evolving through individual and peer supervision, trainings and additional courses to keep me updated with the ongoing developments in the field.
While I am not working, I love going out on long walks and spending time with my dogs. I find a lot of joy in trying something new either meeting new people, trekking, or exploring places to travel.
