
Emotional Maturity
Emotion refers to a subjective conscious experience accompanied by bodily arousal and by characteristic over expression. The emotion experienced by people worldwide called basic emotions. They are joy anger and fear.
Recognizing and using other�s emotion and regulating emotions leads to emotional maturity. Emotional maturity is a process of readjustment the infant learns under parental supervision.
Not all people regulate their emotions well. Those who don�t, tend to have problems interacting with peers, and have adjustment problems. Thus ineffective regulation of emotion leads to more frequent conflict with others, which in turn results in less satisfying relationships, and less adaptive adjustment. Hence measurement of emotional maturity is important.
