Acquired
When a child is born he or she is bestowed with a genetic code and genotype. By the contribution of the genetics they are born with certain innate characteristics, which depend upon the familial genetic contribution. The dominant genetic characteristics usually expresses themselves (if not otherwise altered). However, there are certain characteristics which an individual learn from the environment in which they belong to. These characteristics are called the acquired characteristics. There are different psychological areas where the acquired characteristics can create significant impact. For instance, according to eminent psychologists like Cattell, human intelligence has both the factors, genetic and acquired. As par Cattell, intelligence has 2 component, Fluid intelligence (grossly speaking the innate intelligence) ,and Crystallized intelligence (which can be understood as acquired intelligence). Apart from these, acquired behavior are imbibed through the process of learning, which brings about relatively permanent change in the behaviour of an individual.
