Anabolic Steroid
Anabolic steroids are a type of artificial testosterone. Anadrol, oxandrin, dianabol, winstrol and equipoise are some of the common steroids taken these days. They are either taken in form of pills or are injected directly into muscles. Without a prescription from a doctor, the usage of steroids is illegal.
Anabolic steroids are performance enhancing drugs used by athletes like bodybuilders to gain muscle, to increase bone density, lowering overall body fat percentage, increasing red blood cell production and also helps in sexual functions. Anabolic steroids aren't always harmful, if used appropriately.
Like any artificial supplement, anabolic steroids have side effects and can be dangerous or even life threatening when misused. Too much or improper usage can lead to hair loss, rapid heart rate, can cause livers to grow tumor, makes one act too vigorously and impulsively. Steroids can cause hormonal imbalance in teens, using too much steroids can cause shrunken testicles and growth of breasts in boys and for girls, their voice deepens, they grow excessive body hair and their breast size decreases.
