Cannabis
Cannabis, or marijuana is a psychoactive herb that comes from the hemp plant, cannabis sativa. Strong forms of cannabis include sinsemilia, hash and hash oil. All forms contain Cannabidiol(CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol(THC), both are the main active chemicals in marijuana.
Cannabis is a mind altering substance, when ingested they interact with naturally occurring communication networks in our brain and bodies which are known as endocannabinoid systems. Cannabis' effect on the user depends on the amount of THC in which the person is subjected to. As a result, varying amounts of cannabis dosage can affect many physiological and psychological processes in different ways, which includes gastrointestinal function, appetite, pain, memory, movement, immunity and mental health.
Cannabis holds much promise as a potential medicine for many ailments. THC has been known to produce anxiety and psychotic features, whereas CBD has been known to produce anxiolytic and antipsychotic effects.
