Deficits
Any type of deficits or disability refers to the condition when a person is not being able to achieve development keeping at par with the others of his or her age mates. Certain deficit can be caused by a range of environmental and genetic factors that lead to a combination of cognitive and social impairments. The factors are:
Single gene causes, microscopically visible chromosomal abnormalities, visible and submicroscopic chromosomal causes, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Phenylketonuria, Rett Syndrome, Cat’s Cry Syndrome, Neurofibromatosis, Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome, Adrenoleukodystrophy, Maple Syrup Urine Disease, problem prenatal period, Tuberous Sclerosis, Rubella, Cytomegalic Inclusion Disease, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS), Herpes Simplex, Prenatal Drug Exposure, Complications of Pregnancy, Asphyxia, Long Term Exposures Head Trauma, and other factors which includes the contribution of the immediate Environmental and the Socio-cultural Factors or the social and cultural setting in which the individual lives and is brought up after the birth.
