Overriding influence
In a social situation, human beings are influenced by a number of ways. The act of actively influencing an individual by changing one’s attitude is termed as persuasion. A person can also be influenced by using various compliance technique, individuals also conform to certain situation for their need of knowledge or survival. An influence is said to be overriding when a person inspite of having plenty of other areas to option to chose from, get influenced from a source, which is ensures being influenced towards itself despite other options. This is termed as overriding influence.
From the clinical aspect, one etiological factor can be of immense influence resulting in a mental condition, that can result in precipitation of certain psychological disorder. In a converse way, there can be protective factor, which can act over all the psychological vulnerabilities and safeguard an individual from developing psychological trait or disorder.
