Procrastination
The act of putting off work or delaying the task until their last deadline for no particular reason is called procrastination. It is a self created failure of an individual, due to unnecessary or irrational delay of the task keeping aside the potential negative consequences.
People often assume that procrastination is a matter of will power but it is far more complex. When people need to complete any task, they rely on their self control and motivational factors to achieve it. But when certain demotivating and hindering factors outweigh our self-control and motivation, we end up procrastinating.
People procrastinate when their goals are vague, they are not getting their reward in near future, too much belief in oneself to complete tasks on time, fear of making mistakes or looking for perfectionism in their work. Their high concern about what people might think about their work leads to procrastination.
