Terror arousal
Terror arousal refers to the phenomena by which some people wales up terrified from sleep, are biologically referred to as sleep terrors. Sleep terrors can be understood as episodes of screaming, intense fear and flailing while a person is still asleep. Also widely called as night terrors, sleep terrors are frequently paired up with sleepwalking.
Sleep terrors like that of sleep walking are considered a parasomnia which is an undesired occurrence taking place during sleep. Each episode of sleep terror is generally found to lasts from seconds to a few minutes, but some episodes might last longer.
Almost 40 percent of children and a much smaller percentage of adults are affected by Sleep terrors. Although frightening, sleep terrors aren't usually a cause for concern. Most children overcome sleep terrors by their teenage years without any intervention. However, sleep terrors might require clinical treatment if they interfere with getting enough sleep or they pose a safety risk.
