Trance
Trance is referred to an altered mental state at which an individual’s body, when the movements are generally jerky , the limbs are perceived to be quite heavy, in most cases the eyelids flicker, which is mostly due to the rapid eye movements, the eyeball in many individuals roll upwards, the eyes are found to tear, the pupils lie in dilated state and speech pattern usually changes.
Hypnosis is an intense emotional experience that generally affect both patient and therapist. In the trance a dynamic configuration of many kinds of phenomena are constantly interacting in response to functional psycho physiological differences within the individual and the specific significance of the hypnotic interpersonal relationship. As attention is gradually shifted from the external world toward the inner self of the patient, there is an expansion of self-awareness and a lifting of repressions, with exposure of certain repudiated aspects of the psyche.
